There’s a Millionaire Inside Every Woman: How Real Women Can Use 10 Feminine Strengths to Achieve Un

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Is your life less than perfect? Are you feeling stuck in your daily routine? Have you ever looked at a friend or colleague and thought, “Wow, she has it together. What’s her secret?”

Every woman has 10 feminine forces but most rely on only 2 or 3 to get through their day. By adding 1 or 2 new strengths they’ll realize exponential gains, but the real secret weapon is using all of them. Harnessing her 10 strengths is the healthiest way a woman will achieve the career and life she craves.

These 10 strengths will lead you on a discovery that will surprise, delight and transport you to new levels of personal and professional growth.

The following are three of 10 strengths women need to embrace:

1. Genius -The secret to a woman’s genius is collaboration. Instead of solving problems in isolation, we naturally evolved to connect and collaborate. The success that comes from this process provides sanity, support and a smarter solution. So despite how busy we are, women have to make collaboration a priority.

I watched a group of male CEOs compete with their homemaker wives at a brain game. The men lost miserably because they failed to collaborate. They were so surprised that they demanded a rematch the following night-which they lost too! Naturally, the women pooled their resources and won again.

2. Engagement – My motto is women CAN do anything–not women SHOULD do everything. This is the greatest dilemma women face. If you want a career and a happy family life you’re going to have to learn to say “NO.” Women need to set their own expectations for what they want to accomplish, stop being commitment queens and shed the guilt. It’s okay to admit that you can’t handle ALL the laundry, ALL the housework and ALL the carpools. Your husband and kids will have to chip in and help. You may have to say “NO” to the school fundraiser and any other cause that distracts you from your goal.

3. Enterprise – Women may not realize it but they’re already CEOs. They manage the finance, commissary, transportation and janitorial detail. They are pros at running their family like a business. It’s time they start acting like a CEO in all aspects of their lives. CEOs expect a payoff for every business venture. So, when women take on new ventures or choose how to spend their time, they should ask “What’s the payoff?” Is it monetary? Is it good for my spirit? Will it help my position at work or at home? The profit need not be in cash but there needs to be a payoff.

Whether positioning yourself for a promotion, pursuing a life goal or simply figuring out what you want to be when you grow up, the 10 feminine strengths I reveal are Inside Every Woman and when harnessed will help you achieve lasting success and fulfillment.

Success Is Inside!

You Can Deal With Your Depression

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

You can manage your depression and your fears. Here is a short list of techniques that a person can use to help manage their depression and fears.

I was told by a counselor that one of the ways to manage depression is to challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your fearful or depressed, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. For example, your afraid that if you do not get that job promotion then you will be stuck at your job forever. This depresses you, however your thinking in this situation is unrealistic. The fact of the matter is that there all are kinds of jobs available and just because you don’t get this job promotion doesn’t mean that you will never get one. In addition, people change jobs all the time, and you always have that option of going elsewhere if you are unhappy at your present location.

Some people get depressed and have a difficult time getting out of bed in the mornings. When this happens, a person should take a deep breathe and try to find something to do to get their mind off of the problem. A person could take a walk, listen to some music, read the newspaper or do an activity that will give them a fresh perspective on things. Doing something will get your mind off of the problem and give you confidence to do other things.

Sometimes, we can get depressed over a task that we will have to perform in the near future. When this happens, visualize yourself doing the task in your mind. For instance, you and your team have to play in the championship volleyball game in front of a large group of people in the next few days. Before the big day comes, imagine yourself playing the game in your mind. Imagine that your playing in front of a large audience. By playing the game in your mind, you will be better prepared to perform for real when the time comes. Self Visualization is a great way to reduce the fear and stress of a coming situation.

Another technique that is very helpful is to have a small notebook of positive statements that make us feel good. Whenever you come across an affirmation that makes you feel good, write it down in a small notebook that you can carry around with you in your pocket. Whenever you feel depressed, open up your small notebook and read those statements.

As a Layman and author of an anxiety book, I have done many interviews with various counselors in how to manage fear, anxiety and depression. The techniques that I have just covered are some basic ways to manage your depression, however your best bet is to get some help from a professional.

When Do You Enjoy Things the Most?

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

It’s a very strange concept. When you are in a place for a very long time, you don’t really enjoy it. In fact, you might actually start to complain about it. However, when you are about to leave that place, you finally see something beautiful in the place and you actually enjoy your last 2 months there. You see the most that you can and you’ve never noticed them before.

Life is the very same way. It’s only when we are dying that we start to appreciate life. When you have lived for the first 30 years, you don’t really think much of it. In fact some people even think that life is a burden to be carried. It is only when you are in the final years of your life that you say, “Hey, where have I been all these years?” How come sunsets and sunrises start becoming interesting and captivating to a dying person while the person who doesn’t know when they are going to die would rather just remain asleep. How come people don’t do the things with their life that they want to do? What are they waiting for? I guess alot of the people believe mistakenly that along with the birth certificate we also got a guaranteed date when we are going to die. We don’t have such a certificate. You might not be here tomorrow; I might not be here tomorrow!

How many people die with regret about the things they haven’t done in comparison to the people who lived a fulfilled life? How come people don’t realize that they don’t really have an identity except the one that they have made up for themselves? We create our own identity and then we make up stories about that identity. If things go well we call it happiness, if things go badly we call them tragedies. But who is there to experience all of this? You are not that identity! When even that identity is created then who is suffering? I am not talking about the big wars but the small petty problems that we worry ourselves over. Why don’t we just enjoy life to the fullest? We don’t even know what we’re living! Wake up people! Wake up to the life that you are living. Life is living life. Your name and your identity are the pictures moving on the screen of your real SELF. That remains unchanged.. Realize that…. You don’t have an identity.. drop the stories.. embrace what remains… life = happiness…

Challenge Yourself – Stretch Your Boundaries Daily!

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Many times we fall into a sedentary lifestyle because we fear forward movement. We eventually feel as though we’ve fallen into a rut and can’t seem to escape. However, this is where we tend to forget that part of moving forward in life is to continue challenging yourself and your abilities.

It is important that you test your boundaries and see how far you can go. Challenge your own beliefs to increase your sphere and strengthen your resolve in your own life. Of course, don’t do anything to risk life and limb; however, it is important risk and overcome your fears.

We all experience some element of fear. Fears keep you isolated and immobile in one or more parts of your life. Fears tend to develop to replace desire. Instead of desiring change to achieve success, you begin to fear change so that you can remain stable. Instead of desiring more money and responsibility in your job, you fear losing your job and the income. Challenging your fears can allow you to overcome many issues and feelings that have piled up over the years.

Take a course on something of interest to broaden your horizons. Learn something new to enhance your job and make you more valuable. Travel to a new place that you’ve never visited. Set a goal every year to learn one thing new, create one new thing, and go to one new place. It’s easier to try out new facets of your life and character when you are away from the familiar surroundings that remind you of how you “should be living”.

As you meet new challenges, you encounter new character traits, gain new confidence, and enhance your sense of accomplishment. Additionally, the mind wants information to process, store, and reference. As you meet your fears and broaden your horizons, your mind will be too busy to worry or fear the inconsequential things that life throws at us from time to time.

Organization and Inspiration

Friday, October 24th, 2008

What is one thing it seems everyone is constantly striving for?

Organization! When your schedule is organized, you have more time for your family and fun.

Everyone wants it but for many it remains elusive. Organization helps me to work efficiently and effectively and allows me to spend more time doing what I want to do.

Here are some surefire ways to get organized and stay organized:

1. Lists are your friend. List out everything you need to do, then list everything you want to do. Many entrepreneurs make lists constantly and they find if they take that extra five minutes to make the list, they end up getting more done with less stress.

2. Put an A beside everything that needs to be done immediately. Put a B beside things that are important, but not immediate, and put a C beside things you would like to do. This is your MASTER list.

3. Get a planner. Put the things from your lists into your planner. Put the A’s, B’s, and C’s beside each item you schedule into your planner. That way you know what items you NEED to do that day and what items you can afford to let go into another day. Using a planner makes it easy to simply look at your day and know what you need to do. It will increase your chance for getting done what you wanted to get done.

4. Cross items off the master list each time you complete something. Each time an item is crossed off, it feels so good you want the next day to come so you can cross more items off.

5. Be realistic. You may feel like a superhero with your list, but alas, there are only a certain number of hours in a day for everybody. Frequently when I think I’m a superhero, I have to readjust my list keeping in mind that that task will take longer than I’d anticipated.

6. The key is to REVISE YOUR SCHEDULE. If you couldn’t make it to one of your C items, move it to the next available slot on your calendar.

7. NEVER GIVE UP! Many times people get discouraged after they don’t get everything done that they wanted to that day. Just keep revising your schedule and set realistic goals each time you revise the schedule.

The bottom line is that it takes practice. The more you schedule, the more you will learn about yourself and what you can accomplish in a day. Initially, it will be rough and a bit of a trial period. However, you will soon learn what you can accomplish over time after using a list. You will be crossing so many items off the list you will be constantly having to add more. Remember: Don’t give up. You know the benefits of being organized and it can happen to you. Practice makes perfect and patience pays off.

Walking the Weight Off

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Why not start walking your weight off?

The utmost battle for any working mother is the obstruction of having time in their day to exercise. For stay-at-home mom it can be even extra tricky because children will regularly go along with the adventure which means a plethora of distractions.

One of the most effective forms of exercise is walking which is also an easy exercise program to start with because you are able to set your own goals and limitations as you get on with your new fitness exploit. People might try to persuade you to join your local gym, walking for exercise allows you the capability and flexibility to exercise anywhere and anytime you want.

Even though an open schedule is good, when you are starting out it is important to schedule your walks. Pick out a set schedule for 3 weeks and write it on your calendar and plan everything else around your walking schedule. The reason is you will find it easy to break exercise commitments because you put someone else’s needs before your own. For 3 weeks, put your overall health and well being first.

Start slow. It is also a good idea to start with two 10 minute brisk walks before plummeting into a full twenty minute power-walk. Unless you are extremely overweight and or have health problems, you should be able to start your walking program with the two daily exercise sessions and do these 5 days a week. I highly recommend you take a couple days off a week so you do not get burnt out.

Start your walking program on a Monday. If you really want to improve your health then also change your eating and sleeping habits too. By eating right and getting a good nights rest every night you will see dramatic improvements in not only your health but also your overall feeling. You can accomplish so much more if you are maintaining a healthy lifestyle while taking on a life-changing and possibly life-saving walking program.

Walking the weight off may be just what the doctor ordered, but please be sure and ask your doctor before you start this or any exercise program. In particular if you are twenty pounds or more overweight and haven’t been actively involved in any other exercise program.

No Excuses

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Don’t you just hate it when people make excuses for their failures? So do I. But do you know what I hate even more? Finding myself making excuses for my failures! I have a policy that I try to live by: No excuses.

Here are some thoughts on a “No Excuses” policy.

People will respect you. When you say that there are no excuses, that you blew it, and that you take full responsibility to make the situation right, people will be astounded (since very few people make no excuses) and they will come to a greater respect of you.

You will find yourself taking greater responsibility. When you know that your policy is to have no excuses, there will be less room for error because you will be doing everything that you can to make sure the job gets done!

You will become the “go to” person. When someone wants something done, they will turn to you because they know that they can count on you to perform. And they know they won’t get any excuses! This will improve your level of success, and that is exactly what you are aiming for, right?

Practice up: “You’re right. There is no excuse for that. I will fix it immediately.” Refreshing!

Discover Your Path to Success – Part 3

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

If you have read this far, we both know you are serious about succeeding, getting the most out of life, and attaining your goals.

Now, how do you “keep the fire burning” during life’s daily struggle? It’s simple really, but will require the patience to take each task into consideration, without doing everything at once.

You will get the urge to make up for lost time. You now want to jump ahead at “light speed.” If you already read Parts One and Two of this series, you are way ahead of the pack. So many people sit around and dream, doubt, or just talk, but very few take action and then stick with it.

The next step is to get a “coach.” You are now thinking, coaches are expensive; and you are right, but you don’t have to spend much. Here’s how it works: Look for the most positive person you can find, see, or hear, around you. This person is full of positive energy, and all you have to do is listen.

You can be selective about advice, but realize that positive energy is contagious, and you will walk away from conversations with positive energy, too. On the other hand, stay away from negative talk; it is also contagious.

Are you in need of more positive energy? No problem – read articles like this, read self-improvement books, or listen to inspirational audio books, to instill positive energy within you. You can’t lose with a steady dose of positive energy to carry you through the day.

So how do you separate good information from bad? Where do you start, and what, or who, would you listen to first? In the last, and final article of this series, I promise to reveal some great resources, but for now, it’s a good idea to gain positive energy by choosing sources that you find interesting.

If I lead you to a classic self-improvement book, you might find it boring.
However, if you start to read something and can’t put it down, you are getting positive energy and you are enjoying it.

Do yourself a favor, and get a self-improvement source today. You don’t have to implement all of the advice you read – just take what fits into your lifestyle.

Now, let’s look at visualization. This is an extremely powerful treasure, and all of us have the ability to visualize. Ever since the first human had a fantasy, and it came to pass, the power of visualization has built entire civilizations.

Think about what you want, close your eyes, envision it, and see that you have accomplished it. This is only an exercise, but it is an exercise toward success. Never confuse visualization with “pipe dreams.” Visualization is an exercise to cultivate positive energy, move forward, and accomplish goals.

The hidden treasures you found today are patience, the ability to learn, and visualization. Again, you already had them, but patience will require a little extra work, as it does for all of us.
