Who is Ben Barnes?
Former Lt. Gov. of Texas Ben Barnes is a renowned American politician, entrepreneur, and campaigner from the state of Texas. At 26, he was the youngest speaker for the State House of Representatives and became the Lieutenant Governor of Texas at the age of 30. Barnes served as the Lt. Governor, a political position that is one of the most prominent and powerful political roles in the state of Texas. He was President Lyndon Johnson’s protégé and was sometimes called the “51st Senator.”
Ben Barnes sides with the Democratic Party and believes in conservatives and liberals teaming up for an attempt to make productive changes to make improvements to their state and the country as a whole. Regarding the state of Texas, Barnes discussed in an interview with National Public Radio about the oddity of Texas being regarded as a Republican State when Texas was solidly a Democrat state until 1999.
In 2006, he published a memoir called Barn Burning Barn Building in which Ben Barnes relates details of the political scene in Texas during his time in office and the present and calls for a return to bipartisanship. The title comes from the idea that anyone can burn down a barn but it takes a carpenter’s skill to build one.
