Benazepril – Uses – Dosage and Precautions

Benazepril is a medication prescribed to treat hypertension or high blood pressure. It is also known by its brand name Lotensin. This medication is also used to treat hight blood pressure and also congestive heart failure, chronic renal failure and/or kidney failure. Benazepril decreases a chemical in the body that tightens blood vessels making the blood vessels dilate, which indirectly lowers the blood pressure. The main purpose of using Benazepril is to improve and regulate the blood flow in the body. The medication is part of a class of drugs called ACE inhibitors also known as angiotensin-converting enzyme.Benazepril Dosage -They can be purchased as a pill of 5mg, 10mg, 20mg and 40mg. This pill can taken by the patient with or without food twice a day, as prescribed by the doctor. You will need to take your dosage at regular intervals and store them at room temperature in an air tight container, away from children. Under no circumstances should you stop or decrease the dosage by yourself, your doctor is the only one who can say whether or not you should stop the dosage. It is also important to know that while Benazepril. is bound to make you feel much better, it is not a permanent cure, so do not increase or decrease the dosage on your own.
